Tattoo Removal
Laser is standard, but what’s new?
A (Dermatologist): Picosecond lasers are superior to Q-switched. They shatter ink into dust, not pebbles, requiring fewer sessions. But they cost 2x per pulse.
B (Clinician): Non-laser options exist (chemical or saline removal), but they cause scarring. Laser remains safest.
C (Economist): Profit margins are huge. A $500k laser pays for itself in 6 months in a metropolitan area. It’s cash-only, no insurance hassle.
D (Patient): I have green ink. Three clinics told me “good luck.” We need better wavelengths for blue/green pigments, and lower prices per session ($500/session is robbery).
